For my first placement I conducted visual merchandising, through window and instore displays, for Age UK’s Wakefield store. Through this placement I developed a greater understanding of the life cycle of clothing and the behind the scenes work involved in recycling clothing for a good cause. While conducting the stores VM, I was in discussions with managers to ensure the themes were in keeping with Age UK’s identity.
During my second work experience role I was involved in was within the buying team for Iceland Foods. Through this placement I was able to gain a better understanding of the responsibilities and roles of a buyer. Whilst on this placement I was involved in Cycle change meetings, accounting meetings, involved in more sustainable processes for the business and forecasting meetings to name a few. This made me confident in roles of responsibilities and confirmed that I am comfortable to work with professionals in the workplace.
